Okay, today I woke up with the oddest question on my mind.
There are live performers in SL, but how does one post an event in Live Music with a DJ as the performer? I am an SL DJ and I certainly do not think of posting any events under Live Music. A DJ is not performing the same way as a live performer is so that would not qualify in my mind as live. All a DJ does is announce the songs, talk on mic a bit and take requests that they then play out of a play list, they don't do the music nor sing.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I do have some thoughts on this. I have been a live music promoter on SL. I have managed 2 musicians. There is a lot involved in that type of booking and promoting. I belong to a lot of live music promotion groups. Many also have DJ as live performers, some do not. You have to be a live performer, singer, instrument player like guitar or piano. So you just have to find the appropriate groups that provide both the live musicians and DJ to post their events. Feel Free to contact me inworld and I can guide you to the groups that allow both! ReplyDeleteThanks Emmalenma, I will do that. Just thought it wasn't right to post as a DJ under Live events on the SL events site.
